Donegal was the sunniest place in Ireland weekend June 7-9, 2013 when St Luke’s supporters enjoyed their sixth Annual Reunion at the Great Northern Hotel in Bundoran.
Joe Guilfoyle, Chairman of the Save St Luke’s Campaign and organiser of the event, speaking at dinner on June 8, dedicated the weekend to the memory of Olive Stanley Wetzel, who was Vice Chair Person of the Campaign committee, for her trojan work to save St Luke’s.
Olive’s mother Ruth attended the function along with her brother Cyril and his wife, her sisters Ann and Elizabeth and brothers-in-law, along with nieces and nephews.
Enid O’Dowd presented an award to Joe (see picture gallery) on behalf of the committee for all his hard work for St Luke’s over recent years.
After the speech and the presentation, Kathy Durkin and her band entertained.
Our thanks are due to Ken Begley who drove the bus with the large contingent from Waterford and who also looked after the outings to Derry and to Knock, and to Waterford companies PENROSE CRYSTAL and GLOBAL INK for donating raffle prizes.
Such a great time was had by all that Joe Guilfoyle has already taken 16 bookings for 2014!
